Students will identify 4 items from the poem (metaphor, repetition, personification, pattern) and produce a poem with one of the four elements.
Updated Proficiency: Students will identify a metaphor from a poem and will be able to write a metaphor of their own.
Definition of metaphor: Comparing two things that are not alike and finding something they have in common.
Metaphors are comparisons that show how two things that are not alike in most ways are similar in one important way.
Example: "Eggs are like the sun."
